STOP HATIN' ON AFRICA T-SHIRT
Elevate your streetwear game and join BURKi’s mission to launch our first Ulo/cultural repair shop in Washington, DC. Grab your Stop Hatin’ on Africa tee—and become a part of measurable justice, by making bold statements where others are scared, and otherwise corrupted.
The math: 18,750 tees = $1,312,500
Where $1.3125MM goes
$562,500 for local production of the shirts:
Premium blank apparel
Top-quality decoration by a DC native-owned firm
Promotion from local marketers
$318,750 for all foreseeable costs of doing business in year 1.
$150,000 for repair shop build-out:
- 12-month space rental in the heart of the soufside
- Printers, presses, computers & other tech
$93,750 each for 3 beneficiary Afrocentric institutions.
Every shirt sold brings us one step closer to our larger goal of $4 million and a more permanent, sustainable production hub where Black solutionaries, educators and "wato-preneurs" can combine forces to reclaim space, craft their own narratives, and repair culture through control of production.
Why your tee matters
Become a forager: Wear the cultural seed. Spark conversations. Elevate perspectives.
Ujamaa (cooperative economics): It’s not just a utilitarian garment; it’s practical art. Underwrite local educational infrastructure. Create real “Black jobs.” Pour $100 million into local Black schools; without the traps of bureaucracy.
Get on the right side of history: Help bring an end to the global genocide, uncommonly known as the "Maafa", that is anti-Africanism. End all “racism” (anti-tropical-ism/melanin-ism/Blackness).
… right?
